TGW Logistics Group ensures Quality of EWM Systems with suxxesso Tool Suite

As general contractor TGW plans and establishes highly automated logistic centers all over the world – and supervises them during operation. The intra logistics specialist develops and produces all essential elements, from software, steering mechanisms through robotic to mechatronic modules. Leading companies and well-known brands such as Levi Strauss, Puma and Zalando trust in the know how from Austria. Founded in 1969 as a small locksmith´s shop, TGW has come to be an international leader in systems integration with more than 4.000 employees in three continents.

For companies operating in these sensitive areas such as TGW, 100% functioning and quality assured systems are of the utmost importance. That is why TGW sought a possibility to ensure the quality of SAP-EWM systems efficiently and fully for its customers´ systems.

Test Coverage Enhancement, Mass Testing and Efficiency Enhancement through Test Automation

“In addition to test coverage enhancement, the quality assurance objectives in SAP-EWM systems which we want to accomplish with test automation´s assistance include mass testing and efficiency enhancement”, says Mag. Alexander Osterer, head of SAP Business Integration at TGW Logistics Group.

After completing a market analysis and a successful Proof of Concept, TGW Logistics Group decided to ensure the quality of SAP EWM core systems for customers´ plants with the support of suxxesso Tool Suite.

Usability and cross-systems Test Cases being the Decision Criteria for suxxesso Tool Suite

Besides the high usability, the crucial criteria for choosing suxxesso was the convenient possibility of creating cross-system test cases.

„We are convinced that a highly specialized test automation software such as suxxesso Tool Suite is the best option to ensure the highest quality of SAP systems of our customers. Due to the function range of suxxesso Tool Suite, especially the fully automated test data delivery through suxxesso Data Manager, we are able to increase the frequency of the test runs and to notice and correct possible side effects of system changes in a timely manner.

The test automation set which also includes E2E (End to End) test cases including ERP and EWM systems can be used 1:1 in development stages due to full automation.

Full Automation as Key to agile Testing Procedure while Testing across all Technologies

„By completely automating the test cases, we are capable of executing our test cycles fully automated at any time – without any manual effort for preparation, test data provisioning or execution.

Since the test cases are easily parameterizable, we enable the developers, who are not profoundly involved in the business processes, to execute test runs in their development environments”, says Mag. Alexander Osterer.

The next steps in test automation include test coverage of further systems which contain trans-technologically SAP-GUI as well as FIORI application.
