Growing test volumes despite successful harmonization
Sappi – a global manufacturer of paper, pulp, and specialty packaging with around 11,600 employees – harmonized its SAP systems worldwide. The paradoxical result: the more successful the harmonization became, the faster the regression test volume grew.
Business experts were losing more and more time to manual testing instead of advancing the business. A scalable approach to test automation was needed – one that worked without SAP developer expertise.
Full automation with a single business resource
The turning point: one person was given the full mandate to own test automation end to end – with no prior SAP knowledge, no prior suxxesso experience.
With suxxesso, around 25 business users worldwide were trained. Today, tests run fully automatically, including every night – with no coding skills required.
What makes the difference:
- 1 business resource responsible for all test automation
- 25 trained users globally – no SAP developer expertise required
- Tests run automatically every day, including outside business hours
- Not a single line of code
740 changes. 0 open issues at go-live.
The SAP RISE migration was the toughest test: 740 changes, 1,709 transports. Over 57 consecutive days, around 2,000 hours of automated tests ran across four virtual machines.
The result at go-live: 100% of all test scenarios completed successfully. Zero open issues.
