From an internal QA project to a strategic partnership

SER Group develops Doxis4, one of Europe’s leading ECM platforms – including its own SAP add-ons. The goal at first contact more than three years ago: ensure the quality of these add-ons and maximize testing efficiency for customer deliveries.

In early 2019, a multi-day proof of concept with the suxxesso Tool Suite began at SER’s headquarters in Bonn. The pilot first turned into a dedicated quality gate for SAP add-on development – and eventually into a reciprocal partnership model.

Quality gate in the build process – and added value for end customers

The capabilities and usability of the Tool Suite already convinced the SER team during the PoC. Step by step, an automated test set was built, which SER Group uses for the internal quality assurance of its own SAP add-ons. The set is firmly integrated into the build process as a quality gate.

Building on this success, SER Group expanded the model: the tests created with suxxesso are now also made available to end customers – giving them automated test coverage for the add-ons they receive. The approach has since been adopted by additional add-on developers.
